Seis autonomías prohíben o tramitan ya el límite a las ‘gasolineras fantasma’
El sector denuncia problemas de seguridad y pérdida de empleo por la competencia

Cuatro comunidades autónomas han legislado ya sobre la prohibición de funcionamiento de las gasolineras que no tienen personal (Navarra, Andalucía, Castilla-La Mancha y Aragón), mientras otras dos (Asturias y Baleares) ultiman la tramitación parlamentaria de la limitación a estas actividades. Una ola de restricciones a la actividad de estas estaciones de servicio (conocidas también como gasolineras ‘fantasma’ o ‘low cost’) a la que los empresarios y sindicatos del sector quieren que se sume también Castilla y León, a pesar de que hasta el momento la Junta no ha mostrado intención de regular una normativa de carácter nacional sobre la que existe competencia autonómica.
En la provincia de León son ya 16 las gasolineras que funcionan bajo esta fórmula, además de los sistemas ‘híbridos’, es decir, los que durante el día tienen personal, pero que por las noches permiten repostar sin vigilancia.
Polémica
El modelo funciona desde hace años en otros países europeos, pero en España la proliferación de estas gasolineras ha puesto de acuerdo a sindicatos, patronal y asociaciones de consumidores para reclamar que se mantenga el sistema tradicional de repostaje.
Mientras que los partidarios de dar libertad a las empresas para ofrecer el sistema que prefieran aseguran que la postura del sector contra esta proliferación es un intento de poner límites a la competencia, desde las empresas de estaciones de servicio y los sindicatos se advierte de que dejar sin vigilancia las estaciones no sólo resulta peligroso, sino que perjudica los intereses de los consumidores.
Además, inciden en la pérdida de empleo que supondrá en el sector, y que acentuará los problemas por los que atraviesan. En el caso de Castilla y León, que se suman al recorte del negocio causado por la implantación del céntimo sanitario.
Los empresarios de las gasolineras tradicionales advierten también de que si las ‘low cost’ ofrecen precios más competitivos es precisamente por el ahorro que les supone la falta de personal. Aunque bien es cierto que los precios de los carburantes han estado marcados tradicionalmente por la escasa competencia entre los operadores, al margen de las subidas y bajadas de los precios de origen.
En la actualidad hay en España casi 500 gasolineras de este tipo, lo que supone menos del 5% del total de las estaciones de servicio. En Andalucía se permiten las estaciones ‘híbridas’, que están desatendidas durante la noche.
